Anemia: Most men run a hemoglobin of 14.0 to 16.5 or so. Below 13 is worrisome. I'd ignore RBC count especially in this global age as some guys have smaller red cells because of mild thalassemia traits. Now, anyone of any age or gender with anemia needs to have the cause found as it warns of something else -- anything from a limited diet to stomach or colon cancer, hookworm, or about 1000 others.
