A member asked:

Can a single child abuse event leave major life-long issues?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Depends: It should not have occurred in the first place and is, unfortunately likely to occur again. A single incident depends on the nature of the abuse and its severity. If it forms a "file" in the "hard drive" of the brain, it can be a recurrent source of behavioral problems for life.
