Circumstances: Liver laceration is one of the most common forms of fatal or near-fatal child abuse. It won't result from falling off a sofa, the dog didn't do it, and even inept CPR is unlikely to be the cause, though defense lawyers allege it. A frustrated parent may kick a baby in the abdomen, not very hard, and just once -- and regret it the rest of their life.

Depends: depends on the age of the child and the circumstances . If the facts on how injury occurred are sketchy and hard to believe than abuse is always in the differential .
