Pool water and bugs: Sensitivity to chlorine can cause a few symptoms like burning to eyes and other sensitive parts of the body. Pools also get contaminated w excreta esp when many kids are in it, and with low levels of chlorine. Additionally, kids, pass germs by direct contact, esp staph infections, common on skin, as a direct inoculation to any part that was scratched. Give Ibuprofen and use OTC antiseptic cream
