Not Contagious: Generally, only the weeping, oozing fluid from the acute outbreak on the skin is mildly contagious and then only to those with no immunity to Chicken Pox (varicella). This is most significant if a pregnant woman without immunity could transmit the virus to her fetus and cause an Intrauterine infection which would probably cause injury to the susceptible fetus.
