Diaper rash: There are 2 main types of diaper/nappy rashes. If the skin is red and raw- like a bad sunburn- it's caused by the urine or stool burning the skin. Keep the area clean, but DON'T scrub. Apply a heavy coating of A&D Ointment or Desitin (zinc oxide diaper cream) (or anything), but don't scrub it off each diaper change. Just rinse, dab, and reapply where needed. If too messy, wash in bathtub and start over with barrier oint.
