Just ask: you could just ask your doctor. it is only a simple blood work. I will not be surprised if you actually already have the test done.

Ask?: You might start by explaining why you are concerned that you might be anemic, and then ask him or her to provide an explanation for your concerns. If the explanation does not satisfy you, simply ask your doctor to do a complete blood count. I will warn you though that if there is not a clear indication to do the test your insurance company might not pay for it.
