Estrogen/testosteron: Luteinizing hormone is made by the pituitary gland. In men in stimulates the testes to make testosterone, in women it stimulates the ovaries to make estrogen as well as egg production. In women, there is natural cycle to the amount of lh made throughout the month. If your level is low, one needs to investigate for pituitary or hypothalamic problems. Taking hormones will also lower lh levels.
