Unusual: Ii is unusual for an OB to do home deliveries. However, nurse midwives are associated with ob's and those delivireies usually occur at a birthing center and if there are any problems a medical person can become quickly involved.

Things to ponder: A good 10-20% of women in labor eventually get into trouble & require hospital based care. It takes an hour or more under the best of circumstances to move such a patient who is often unstable to the hospital. Would you as a "good" OB want to get involved when risks cannot always be predicted ?
