Bier blocks rule!: If you are fortunate enough to have a procedure that a bier block is an anesthetic option that is great. Bier blocks are easy, safe, with a very low incidence of side effects. General anesthesia has more possibility of nausea, sore throat, excessive sedation, etc. Bier blocks are one of the best techniques if you are having a relatively short procedure on the hand, fingers or wrist.
