Skipped menses: At age 48 it is extremely common for periods to be late or to skip them. However, if not using protection 2-3 months ago I would still check a pregnancy test even though you had menstrual type bleeding since. Not all bleeding is your period. This is likely the beginning of the perimenopause for you and it can last 4-7 years on average.
