How can i tell if i have got a bennetts fracture?

Xray: A Bennetts fx is at the base of the thumb metacarpal. Ligamentous attachments cause displacement which makes appropriate healing with only a cast difficult. These often require surgical treatment

Xray: If you have significant pai and swelling at the base of your thumb an xray is needed to determine if you have a Bennett's fracture, which may or may not require surgery

Injury to the base -: of the thumb metacarpal bone. you can get an Xray of it to confirm. Generally with a hx of a fall or injury to the thumb, with pain, swelling, tenderness and inability to move thumb without having severe pain in it. Seeing an Orthopod would benefit as she/he can Dx it and start treating you as well. Good Luck.
