Various: The most common type of bladder cancer is called transitional cell carcinoma and makes up the vast majority of bladder cancers in the unites states. The next most common form is squamous cell carcinoma, followed by the rarest called adenocarcinoma. The latter 2 tend to be more aggressive tumors with a poorer long term prognosis.

Many: Most "bladder cancer" in the US refers to urothelial carcinoma (previously called transitional cell carcinoma). This accounts for 90% of "bladder cancer". Squamous cell and adenocarcinoma are more rare types acounting for 8% or so. These are associated with chronic inflammation/irritation or genetic predisposition. There is conflicting evidence if any of the above types are worse than the others.
