Self esteem: Jealousy is often fueled by low self esteem, insecurity or past relationships that negatively influenced your ability to trust others. On the surface, build up your own perspective of yourself (self esteem) and see if that helps.

Self reliance: When jealousy is justified and the rival is real, jealousy can be lessened by reducing the dependence of self worth on a particular relationship. Other strategies for the jealous party is to work on self confidence and ability to act independently. Therapy can help by reducing irrational thinking, improving communication skills, and increasing satisfaction and fairness in the relationship.
