Gastroenteritis: Viral gastroenteritis usually begins with abdominal discomfort, sometimes associated with fever and/or vomiting, which is later followed by diarrhea. Dehydration can result from the excessive fluid loss, especially in children. Warning signs that something more severe is going on include bloody or bilious (green) vomiting, bloody stools, and severe abdominal pain.

Gastroenteritis: Hi Courtney, A stomach virus can certainly cause green runny (liquid like stool). The bowel movements can be frequent, and also be accompanied by nausea and vomiting as well abdominal pain, fevers and chills. Most of the time these illnesses are self limited (they stop on their own) and although debilitating are not generally life threatening, unless it persists past a week I would not worry.
