Decrease amount: Caffeine is a stimulant and diuretic,which can cause raised blood pressure and heart rate and cause dehydration,none of which are good for the baby.More than one 12oz cup of coffee a day could cause your baby to have altered sleep cycles, and stress on it's cardiovascular system.Human studies haven't proven it causes preterm labor, defects, or low birth weight but we don't know for sure.
