Possible sinus: Although you may be at the end of an upper respiratory tract viral infection, it may be time for you to be placed empirically on an appropriate antibiotic, such as Augmentin (amoxicillin and clavulanate) (if not allergic to penicillin) or Levaquin if sensitive to penicillin. The metallic taste may be purulent drainage from the sinuses. See an ENT doctor for a specific diagnosis and treatment.

Meds: Have you been taking cold meds, especially those containing zinc? Metallic taste and GI issues may be related. See your PCP os Gastro-enterologist.
