Overuse: Tennis elbow is inflammation of the tendons on the outside of the elbow, almost always caused by overuse of the arm/elbow. The forearm muscles and elbow tendons become damaged and inflammed with overuse, commonly seen with tennis, racquet ball, as well as in painters, plumbers, carpenters, auto workers, and cooks. Any repetitive motion with the forearm can cause this but it can occur insidiously.
