Don't use it: Garcinia cambogia is in most weight loss supplements, and can cause liver failure. It was also used in Hydroxycut which was taken off the market as people died from using it. I see a handful of patients per month with abnormal liver tests after using this medicine. I would NOT recommend it. There is no "magic pill" for weight loss. Diet and exercise remain the #1 way to lose weight and keep it off

Forgive me: The same length of time it will take you to lose the 100 pounds by diet and exercise without taking that stuff. Those folks have no reason to to tell the truth. We do. Kelly, it's time you have a talk with your physician about weight loss -- especially for a young woman like yourself, either a major lifestyle modification or bariatric surgery is your route to the body that you want. Good luck.

Not recommended: We dont know the long term effect of this herb and with your diabetes, i wouldn't be inclined to take it. Also we dont know if there is an interaction with metformin.

See below: Due to the herbal nature of the garcinia cambogia, the supplement is not held to the same standards or regulations as those substances considered prescription drugs. This means that you may actually experience adverse interactions with certain prescriptions you may currently be on for a given condition or illness, discuss with your md.I do not use it!

Rate of loss: The most important consideration is how rapidly you lose the weight. More than 1 lb per week could be unsafe and is likely to be followed by rebound gain.

Garcinia Cambogia : If your thyroid condition has been successfully treated and you are euthyroid, there shouldn't be a safety issue with the herb. However, wiki states this product was not found to be effective for the claims made for it, so it may not be worth taking. http://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/garcinia_gummi-gutta.
