Don't understand ?: There are lower tar and nicotine cigarettes, but people who smoke them tend to smoke more of them, inhale more deeply and hold it longer, so they are getting the same amount. The best way to quit is to use nicotine replacement therapy, with patches, gum/lozenges to gradually taper yourself down (21 mg patch to 14 mg to 7 mg every 2 weeks).
