can you tell me about gestational diabetes symptom and retinal detatchment?

1 doctor answer
Dr. Harold Peltan
27 years experience Ophthalmology
Not common: It is not common to get diabetic retinopathy and retinal detachment from gestational diabetes. It is still possible to get a retinal detachment from any other cause. Symptoms of retinal detachment include flashing lights, many new floaters, and a dark curtain that comes across your vision. Any of these symptoms require urgent evaluation by a specialist eye MD.
