See details: That decision needs to be made by the patient and the doctor treating her polymyositis. I would not recommend it unless the disease is under excellent control and the patient is not taking any meds that would potentially harm the fetus.

Depends on extent: This depends on the extent of the involvement of the muscles and other tissue and the therapy she is on. Some cases of polymyositis are very active and pregnancy is not advised. She needs to discuss these issues with her physicians and rheumatologist.
