See your doc: If you have dysphagia, or difficulty swallowing, you may need to have a swallow study and/or endoscopy to evaluate for an anatomic lesion that is making it difficult for food to pass. In the meanwhile, try to cut up and chew your food well, and avoid "tough" food like steak, so that you are able to swallow more easily and limit the risk of choking. Best of luck.
