Regulate: F you are having irregular periods, you need cycle regulation. With PCOS, you don't ovulate, so you don't make progesterone. Progesterone protects the lining of the uterus from cancer. With PCOS, your risk is increased, you need hormone regulation. The easiest way is with OCPs. If you are a smoker, OCPs are contraindicated after 35 yrs old, so you can be given cyclic progestin.
