Vent support: Treatment is a complex and includes rx of underlying cause, such as treating infections present, etc. Support often with a mechanical ventilator in a way so the ventilator itself does not injure the lung but adequate oxygen is delivered( lung protective ventilation) removal of excess fluid with diuretic medicine sometimes. These patients are very ill and may need other forms of ICU care.
