Tinnitus: Its not unusual for one to experience some ringing or dizziness with a middle ear infection. This should be treated promptly and you can expect the other symptoms to resolve quickly. If tinnitus, persists, it may indicate Sensorineural (nerve) injury or inflammation. You should ask for an ENT referral for an audiometric exam if the tinnitus persists after the ear infection is resolved.
