Rarely: Some women will experience a very early or premature menopause in the 30s and symptoms may start up to 5 years before the periods stop. Nonetheless, hot flashes can also be due to certain medications, thyroid or other endocrine problems, or to certain types of cancer, like lymphoma. See your doctor for an accurate diagnosis.

Yes: There are other medical causes for these symptoms that should be evaluated. However, we frequently see patients in their thirties who have insufficient ovarian hormone production. This is why women in their late 30s are not as fertile as women in their mid twenties. Correction of hormone insufficiency results in absence of symptoms.
