Hemoglobin 7. been taking the iron dr prescribed but it's not getting better. i'm so tired. how long does it take to get hemoglobin back to normal?

Why is it low: determines the answer. Continual loss...immediately after bleeding stops and after blood given back by transfusion. Not making blood. (no kidney hormone to stimulate production; no marrow due to disease like cancer, inflammation blocking it) won't get fixed til disease is fixed (and iron will go sky hi). Everything fixed but iron needed to make more (like post ulcer/trauma). 1-2 points/month.
