Clomfranil: Constip is listed as a possible side effect of clom. I would keep taking the clom, but increase my water and fiber intake. Oatmeal, berries, apples, orange juice with pulp are all tasty foods with fiber. Many cereals are available too both as a meal substitute as well as a snack. FIber gummies are a great choice as well.

Single molecules: chosen for treating symptoms, clomfranil promoted for depression, Omnicef (cefdinir) for killing bacteria (some). Stool color mostly from stercobilin, a metabolite of hemoglobin released after RBCs die, converted to bilirubin, secreted by liver & converted by colonic bacteria. Any antibiotic also kills intestinal bacteria & changes colonization with whatever results. Constipation: stool held too long & hard
