Varies: It varies somewhat on the exact procedure being done. If your wife is having two cervical disc removed, and having a disc replacement performed; these are inherently stable when inserted and patients are usually completely healed by 2 weeks. If a fusion is done, a healing process of 8-12 weeks must occur before full recovery. I would certainly ask your surgeon for more specifics. Thank you.
