Infection likely: Unless the antibiotic induces diarrhea or causes you to lose your appetite, the more likely reason for the weight loss is the infection. Additionally, having a sore throat makes eating an unpleasant experience, While fevers can cause water loss from sweating. Ultimately, these processes lead to weight loss.
