Primary Dysmenorrhea: Very sadly, some women suffer more pain than others during their menstrual cycle. It can be primary, meaning not from any abnormality or condition. It would be only the first 2-3 days of the menstrual flow, starting just a few hours before the flow commences. If you have not had a gynecological exam, then you should have one. This pain typically starts within the first year of having menses.
