Itchy, scaly rash: If it is contact allergy, hours to days later may have itchy, reddish, scaly rash where skin contacted latex. It is similar to contact allergy that you see with poison ivy. Non-specific irritation caused by lubricants, latex can also cause a dermatitis. Rarely, systemic symptoms of wheezing, shortness of breath , hypotension, hives, and swelling can occur if already sensitized to latex.
