Crazy is not a word: It causes all sorts of trouble to use everyday words interchangeably w/ medical terms. We all do. It's never good. There are depressions w/ psychotic features. The misery of the depression is not likely to be what 'drives' the poor soul 'crazy' however. It's also possible that psychotic symptoms can make you feel hopeless. In any case, get help if you're depressed. It does work. Try therapy 1st.
