Unless it's related : To a medicine you are taking for depression, it could be alopecia areata, seen in children ; adolescents with allergies ;, sometimes, a family history of autoimmune disorders. Hair in the affected area may be narrower at the base, making it look like an exclamation point. One side of the scalp is often more affected than the other. Dermatologists diagnose ; treat alopecia areata.
