Bruising: Neuroapraxic injury to the digital nerve distal sensory branches. Should resolve over 4 to 6 week time frame. Not a permanent injury. If finger was lacerated then potential for nerve laceration and need to be evaluated.

No nerve damg: Are there any abrasion on the skin? Or any puncture wounds? If not, chance of you having any nerve damage is very low.
