Strep: 30 % of women are carriers for group b strep. The baby will only potentially be effected if the amniotic sac ruptures and the mother is not treated for this positive carrier status with antibiotics. As it is the type of strep that is found in the oral cavity is not group b. There should be nothing for you to worry about in this situation.
