What will happen to my baby if i'm pregnant by my cousin?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Hard to say: If you are lucky, you will have a normal baby. However, we are all thought to carry up to 4 silent (recessive) defective genes that are balanced by a good gene so we don't have problems like thalassemia,PKU or cystic fibrosis. When you have babies with a closely related person you risk one of these silent genes pairing up with another to produce a baby with a defect. It could be bad.
