A member asked:

Should i be concerned with a needle poke to wrist? stuck dog twice, then poked my wrist, am a vet tech. now bruising 3-4 inches around

Radial artery: If you have that much bruising it signals that there has been considerable bleeding. Puncture to the radial or ulnar arteries could have resulted in leakage of blood from the artery. Holding pressure for 10 minutes usually is all that's needed to stop the bleeding under the tissues. Damage can be significant and circulation to fingers cut off if one of those arteries is significantly injured.
