Don't despair: Can't say much more without knowing the circumstances. What to do depends on the type of cancer, it's stage, her general health, her access to medical care, and other factors. Make sure she sees docs with expertise in the field, preferably working as an interdisciplinary team. Be of support to her but respect her decisions. Best to both.
