Routine Paps: You are too old for the HPV vaccine (sad to say that at our age, huh?!) If you are not in a monogamous relationship and are sure your partner is as well, then you should use a condom during sex. Second, you should have a yearly Pap to pick up any changes in your cervix that may be caused by HPV to catch things earlier rather than later.

How ?: You have provided no useful information as a basis for an answer. If you never had the hpv vaccine, consider yourself likely exposed and infected. Regular pap smears have been the mainstay of cervical cancer screening for decades, and you should follow that program. Years from now the vaccine may decrease the need for annual paps, for now, most need them.
