A member asked:

What do you suggest if i have elastics on my braces for my overbite and i don't know if i should move my jaw foward to help?

Don't worry: The elastics will help guide growth. Just follow your orthodontist's instructions to the letter. Remember, elastics don't work unless they are in your mouth.

Not recommended: If your overbite is not skeletal, braces and an elastics that attaches to the braces should be sufficient to correct your mild to moderate overbite.

Suggestion: Discuss your concerns with your orthodontist. It's not your call.
