Consult phycisian: You need to consult a phycisian for your acid reflux & need to be on proper medication.Proper diet control would also help.Chronic acid reflux can create inflammation of your esophagus & also lead to decalcification of your tooth enamel leading to sensitive teeth. It can also irritate soft tissues in the mouth & throat.

Rinse: acid reflux is just that..strong acids and they are very erosive to your teeth. if you can feel it happening during the day and know when it is going to happen you could get your dentist to make you clear overlay retainers to protect your teeth from the acid. I would definitely wear them during the night as well.

Treatment for GERD: Acid reflux is a very common disorder and high reflux can come into the upper respiratory system as well as the mouth. I would strongly urge you to see a GI specialist for documentation of reflux and appropriate medical treatment. There are many OTC drugs such as Prilosec and prescription drugs that can significantly lower gastric acid.

Lifestyle Changes: Limit your intake of acid-stimulating foods and beverages, keep a reasonable weight, don't smoke, don't drink alcohol and manage the stress. Ask your PCP for help if needed.
