Several methods: There are also a number of other possible treatments for trichotillomania, although little in the way of medical research has been conducted to determine how effective they are. Psychotherapy is a talking therapy often used to treat emotional problems and mental health conditions. CBT may also involve behavioural txmt.. For children under 18 years of age, SSRIs- sertraline & prozac (fluoxetine) & clomipramine
