A member asked:

Can having cervical biopsies have a damaging effect on carrying a baby full term in the future?

No: A cervical biopsy will have no effect at all. If you have a more extensive procedure such as a cone biopsy or leep procedure, which is done to treat cervical dysplasia in more advanced cases, there is a very small chance of developing a condition called cervical incompetence.

Not at all: Cervical biopsies are not deep, do not change the integrity of the cervix, and will not play a role in pregnancy or ability to reach a normal term delivery. Talk to your doc if you have any more concerns.
