How quickly after lung surgery will you know if it was success?

Depends: Depends on the surgery. For instance, if it was a resection for cancer, the pathology results will take several days.

Cancer surgery?: It will take days to a week to get the pathology report and even if the specimen suggests "they got it all", it may be years before it can be said it was successful.
