Consult EPA: The EPA suggest 8-12 oz of fish per week from the varieties of fish lowest in mercury. Tuna unfortunately contains some of the highest levels of mercury. Consumption of albacore tuna should be limited to 6 oz/week.There are other sources of mercury exposure including occupational risks. If you are concerned about mercury toxicity consult your doctor. A blood test can confirm an abnormal level.

Depends on type of: Tuna. Big Eye & AHI Tuna should be avoided due to high mercury level. Yellow fin & White Albacore Tuna intake should be limited (no more than 3 – 6 oz servings per month). Skipjack & canned chunk light tuna have a lower amount of mercury (no more than 6 6-oz servings per month).
