Elevated-yes: In kids this is a non-specific marker of allergic response.It can be elevater in asthma and other alergic reactions like those to foods or insect bites.It can be very high if the child has paracites. It is elevated is some skin disorders and blood conditions. It goes up with esosinophillic gastroenteritis, ulcerative colitis or regional enteritis.Most often it is a temporary allergic response.
