Why are you on it?: If taking it for bone density, alternatives are a bisphosphonate (Fosamax, Boniva, (ibandronate) Actonel, etc), Miacalcin nasal spray, or a RANK-ligand inhibitor (Prolia). If you are taking it for breast cancer prevention, alternatives are (assuming the person taking it is postmenopausal) Aromasin and tamoxifen.
