AKs and warts: Aldara (imiquimod) is used most commonly for treatment of aks (actinic keratoses which are precancers). It's also used for treatment of superficial skin cancers such as superficial basal cell carcinoma and squamous cell carcinoma in-situ but it does not have as high a cure rate as surgery so it is not considered the gold standard for skin cancer. Aldara (imiquimod) is also used for treatment of genital warts.
